Since I'm talking about sets this week, here is a 'little gift tags' set that I made for a friend recently. I have never done it before, but she insisted, so I had to do it!! I'm glad I did! It was so much fun...so quick! I made 30 of them in a jiffy!
Here are a few of them...

Stamps are from Hero Arts, Stampendous and Inkadinkado. And...you can see my Chrysanthemum stamp again!!
Inks from Memento...Cantaloupe,Tangelo, Dandelion, Cottage ivy, tuxedo black, Grape jelly, Lilac posies, rich cocoa, Cottage ivy.
Distress inks fro Tim Holtz...Clear embossing powder from Judikins...
Hemp cord from Micheals, adhesive jemstones , buttons and ribbon from my stash.
I painted some images in with watercolours from  Camlin and an Aqua brush(just love it!!)

Chrysanthemum stamp...many ways

When I lose my mojo, I stamp an image onto a sheet of paper multiple times and colour it in as and
when I feel like. This particular sheet took me a while!!
When it was done...for a long time, I wondered what to do with it.Then one day my mojo was back!!! I made 5 cards using one A4 size sheet of stamped chrysanthemum images!
the Chrysanthemum stamp is one of my own.
The sentiments (stamped with memento rich cocoa) are from Stampendous and backgrounds are cling stamps from Hero Arts stamped with Memories Acid free Dye ink in Sand. I have used Tim Holtz distress inks to enhance the cards . Cords, Ribbons and buttons are from my stash.I really am proud of this project!

Match box card

This post is a little overdue...We did this project in class last month! It is a cute little matchbox that one can use to give a gift, or, as one of my students did...use it to  give a card in.
You will find the tutorial here.( I simplified it by making only the box.)

Hope this post inspires you...always love to hear from you!

Happy Birthday

I was playing around with backgrounds ( I like to have a few backgrounds on hand to make a quick card!) and decided to do an embossed resist with this Hero Arts Large Line Flowers woodblock stamp.
I applied Tim Holtz distress inks directly to my (Ranger industries) craft mat, spritzed them with water, and used my fingers to apply the paint. The result was not quite what I expected (Shari Caroll makes it look so easy in her videos!!), but I did not want to throw away the card. So after much struggling, I managed to put together this card. The scalloped edge punch is from Martha Stewart and the ribbon is from a local craft store. The flower is from my stash...forgot where it came from though!!

Rose Lace

I bought 10 new background stamps on a recent trip to Singapore!! This is one of them... Rose Lace from Impression Obsession!
I absolutely love it! The inspiration for this card came from a card by Iwona Palamountain (her cards are AWESOME!)
I have simply stamped the background on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink. Layered it with red and black card and onto a silver card base. I then added the three beautiful roses and punched out leaves. The sentiment is one of my own, heat embossed in rouge red embossing powder from American crafts.

Emboss Resist

I recently bought this Hero Arts stamp from a friend...I just love it!
To make this card I decided to use a technique that I saw long time ago in a Hero Arts video. Unfortunately I am unable to find the link now.
This is how it goes though...
I stamped and embossed my image on an ivory card stock first in Chestnut and then with Clear embossing powder, hence, u can see two images. I then applied my distress inks directly to my 'Ranger craft sheet', spritzed water onto the colours and then, using my fingers,  applied the different colours to the image, where I wanted them. for example, the green on the leaves and the lavender and red for the flowers. I finished it off by sponging colour onto the background.  I layered the image with purple handmade paper and then onto a kraft card base.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts too.
One of my favourite cards!!

Happiness and Chocolate

I just love this sentiment from Stampendous!
To go with it I started with a kraft card base.I absolutely love Kraft card for its versatility...it goes with every colour!
I created the background with  the Harlequin background stamp from Impression Obsession  stamped in Sand from Memories acid free dye ink.
The yummy chocolate ice cream die cuts are from Cottage cutz. The smiley button, I thought tied everything together nicely.
The sentiment card is embossed with harlequin embossing folder from Sizzix and distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks.
The sentiment is heat embossed in Chestnut.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I loved making it!

Green Anniversary

I really enjoyed making this card... the way the colours responded on the stamp was amazing!
When something simple turns out so beautiful it makes me very happy!
The leaves stamp is from Hero Arts 'Delicate leaf clusters stamp set'. I used Memento dew drops 'pear tart' (my favourite colour) and 'cottage ivy' inks.
The anniversary sentiment is one I bought years ago in Bangkok...unfortunately it doesn't have a brand name. I cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities.
The wishes stamp is from Stampendous 'Cling Love Health friends'.

The sentiment is cut out with a cuttlebug die and the loop edger is from Cottage Cutz.

Beer mug birthday

I recently made this card for a cousin's birthday.
The Beer Mug is a stamp I created when I first started papercrafting. It's a simple and fun motif and I have heat embossed it in Chestnut embossing powder before colouring it in.
I created the background with the DesignBlocks Birthday background stamp  from Hero Arts stamped in Sand ink from Memories on a Kraft card.
The sentiment is from Stampendous.
The loops that are peeking out is the 'loops edger' die fro Cottage Cutz....one of my newest acquisitions!

Rakhi braid

A little late... but, I though I'd share with you what my daughter made for Rakshabandhan this year.
We got the tutorial for this braid here.
We added a really cute boy and girl charm. Since boys take off and throw their rakhis...I thought it would be nice to have one that we can use year after year and it would remain as a memory.
