16th Birthday

Hey everyone!
I have been missing in action and missing all the challenge fun, due to a really bad cough and cold!!

Here is a card that I made for my son's 16th birthday last week. I was inspired by this fabulous card by Amber Diagre of Damask Love.

While Amber used a black and white colour scheme, I decided to go with more masculine colours with the blue to add pop!

The numbers are die cut using my cuttlebug  number die and for the 16, I used sparkly blue cardstock from my stash.

I adhered the numbers to the cardstock using my Xyron 150 sticker maker...a tool that I absolutely adore!!

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts and it is heat embossed with Wave blue embossing powder from American Crafts.

Real striking don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Tag a bag / envelope!

I am playing three challenges tonight, and I am thrilled with the way my project turned out.

For the Friday Mashup(Eat Cake and colour) Challenge , I created a tag with a faux washi tape cake.

To create the cake, I stamped and heat embossed the washi tape stamps ( stamps from Unity stamp Co.) onto white card and fussy cut around them and popped them on one on top of the other with 3D foam tape.
I then added the 3D star sticker from Recollections stickers as the cake topper.

The background stamp is of course the fabulous designblock from HeroArts.

To make the envelope I stamped  the background stamp on Vellum and then folded it into an envelope.
As you can see this serves as a cash gift envelope.

I am also entereing this project for the Blog named Hero embell-ope challenge and the
CAS-ual Friday CFC 118 Bag and tag challenge

Good night!

The stamp I used here is Daisy Bucket and the sentiment is from Hampton Art.

Which one did you like?

Make-up Mirror

When I used my spellbinders shapeabilities office supplies die to create a note paper for another card, I was left with a scap of paper which resembled a row of bulbs.
The first concept came to mind was a make up mirror.

I sturggled with the concept and this is what I came up with.
I like how it turned out, so I am submitting it for the Addicted to CAS codeword TRANSPARENT challenge and The Paper Players CAS Masculine Card Challenge.

The stamps I have used here are from Hero Arts, Stampendous and Studio G.

Have a great evening!

Molded clay rose

For my official Craft Adda blog post today, I have made a card using a gorgeous molded clay rose made by Khyati.

To empahsise its beauty, I used a panel stamped with Hero Arts Wood Block stamp for the background, some smooth whie satin ribbon and some pearls and gemstones.
I finished by using Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet distress ink around the edges of the panel.

I think the colours are quite striking, don't you?

Bottle cap heart.

Here's another card for  the Moxie Fab Metal, Wood or cork challenge and the Retro sketches Challenge

To the cute pink bottle cap I added a stamped sentiment from Studio G stamps. The heart stamps are from Studio G and Hero Arts as is the sentiment.
Bakers twine is from the twinery.
To create the border , I masked the card and added colour directly from the inkpad to the paper.
Love the effect, don't you?

Enjoy your evening!

Give me more!

Here is another card I made for the Moxie Fab World Stickers and Tape challenge, using the polaroid die from Lawn Fawn and a photograph that I have taken.

This fab speech bubble sticker is from EK success. I stuck it on some acetate and cut around it to give it some body and to be able to use 3D foam tape to pop it up.
I think the sentiment goes perfectly with this photo of a scrumptious chocolate truffle cake, don't you?!
the background is embossed with the happy birthday folder from cuttlebug.

Blue Felt leaves

Good Morning everyone!!
Its a beautiful, cool, sun dappled, morning in Mumbai.
There is no guarantee it will stay this way though!!!

I have a card today which I made for the  Runway Inspired Challenge.

To make this card I used spellbinders dies to cut out the leaves out of a sheet blue felt which had these gorgeous gold speckles on it.
For the flower, I used my spellbinders nestabilities to cut out 4 nesting layers out of this fabulous vellum like felt paper. It is so pretty and so malleable.
To complete the card, I added an embossed background and created the sentiment using a Hero Arts alphabet set.
I am just thrilled with the way this card turned out...I struggled with it for a while.

Then, I added the sentiment and popped the band-aid with 3D foam tape.

The hot air balloons are free digital download, which I coloured with Copics and watercolours.

I am submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp 'Monday Challenge'.

I like to think of how I would use a card, when I make it.
To me, this seems like a perfect anniversary, wedding, anew home or agoing away card.

Pretty bugs!

Good morning all!!
It's a wet  wet morning here in Mumbai, but, I have woken up with ideas buzzing around in my head!!!
Looks like it is going to be a productive day!

I have two cards for you this morning, which showcase what I call the magnifying effect.

To create this effect I stamped the flowers once on the card and once on another piece of cardstock.
I punched our a 1" circle from the flowers on the cardstock and placed it on the base card to correspond with the image.
I then stamped the bugs on the circle and after colouring, I popped up the circle with 3D foam tape.

All the stamps used here are from Hero Arts and Stampendous and the ink is Danube blue from Memento.

The gorgeous twine is from The Twinery.

I also used Tim Holtz distress ink to watercolour the hydrangea.

I am submitting the Hydrangea card for the Simon Says stamp Wednesday challenge.

The Hydrangea stamp is from Hero Arts and is available to purchase in the Simon Says Stamp store.

Have a fabulous day!
