Greetings from the US of A!

Hello everyone! I haven't been posting as I am travelling in the US.
I just have to share the most awesome experience I had when I arrived here... I stumbled upon 'The Great American Scrapbooking Convention'.
I thought I died and went to heaven!!
Everything I wanted under one roof!!!
And then I met Bonnie Krebs, the owner of Art Impressions stamps! I had previously only seen her online and followed her class on online card classes watercolours for card makers.
To see her in person, doing a demo just for me and then getting to keep her original art was just fantastic!!!
I'm sharing here some photos of the convention. I am unable to share the video of her demo from my phone unfortunately!

Thanks do much for stopping by!
Enjoy!

Making tags using hand carved stamps

Hey all!
I have been having fun making tags using some of the hand carved stamps that I had made a while ago.

some of the stamps are really tiny and extremely simple and I have managed to make some fab backgrounds with them.
I added some free digi flowers which I  downloaded and coloured with copics, some gemstones, some charms, handmade paper flowers, foam letters( from EK success), feathers, buttons, brads and twine for extra pop!

I am submitting this card for the Color Q challenge.

Hope you have had fun reading this post!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a good night!

A Wobble Card

I am very excited with the card that I have created today!
I have recently been coming across cards which 'wobble'!
As I did not have access to the 'wobble' mechanism, I decided to create my own...using the plastic spiral wire that the stationer uses to spiral bind books.
My stationer was kind enough to give me a free strip of wire for me to experiment.
It wasn't easy and I have a few kinks to work out...but, I am quite happy with the card I made.

The image and sentiment are free digis from Paper Smooches. the background stamp is a cling stamp from Penny Black and the inks used are from Memento.

As I had to cut out the antennae of the bees, I used  white flower centres (coloured them black with a marker) to create the antennae.

Once the card was made, it wouldn't fit in an envelope, so I fit it into the clear plastic box. I quite like the look of it!

And see how it wobbles!!!!!

I am entering this for the Paper Smooches Sparks 'Anything goes' Challenge as well as the Friday Mashup 'Cards that move' Challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by to share in my excitement!
Have a great evening!

Watercolour Stencil backgrounds...2

Here is a card made for my Official CraftAdda post today, using the watercolour stencil backgrounds I made at Online Card Classes with Tim Holtz.

The technique he demonstrated was with stencils which had a large negative area. Since I did not have any such stencil, I decided to make my own using the Cuttlebug numbers die plate and an OHP sheet. It did not cut perfectly, but I got a couple of really nice panels. I used Crushed Olive and chipped Sapphire distress inks on the OHP sheet and then spritzed it with water.

Here is the result...

To add interest I placed a sheet of blue vellum under the panel, added sequins and tilted the Stampendous sentiment.

I am submitting this card for the Case Study  193 challenge.

Water colour stencil backgrounds..1

On Online Card classes watercolour for card makers, Tim Holtz conducted an awesome class!
Here are the panels he inspired me create...

and here is a card that I made...

The sofa and and cushion are from PTI and the sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp "where your heart is" stamp set.
The stencil used is from Crafters Workshop.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink, Crushed olive and water to create the background panel.
For the card background, I simply applied some of the same ink on an acrylic  block, sptrized it with water and stamped on the card!
I inked up the sentiment, spritzed it with water and stamped it. I found it to be too watery, so I stamped over it a couple of times till I was happy with the colour.

I am submitting this card for the "Less is more" Lucky dip week 174 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
Good night!
