Merry Christmas!

This is my only Christmas card/tag of this season!

We have been busy with family issues, so didn't have a chance to make any,  but when I saw all the Christmas posts online today I couldn't resist!

The tag is cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities, the image and sentiment are from Hero Arts. The trees are a stamp I had created years ago.

I got my daughter to hold it up in from of the tree so that I could capture the bokeh effect!

Here's wishing all you wonderful people a very Merry  and blessed Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a good night!

A water colour card

Hi!
Today I have a card that I made using Art Impressions watercolour rubber stamps. and Watercolour and distress markers. tutorials can be found on the Art Impressions website.
I used Cotman watercolour paper to create the panel and a silky multicoloured ribbon to make it look pretty! The panel is cut using Spellbinders nestabilities dies
:-)
For the background, I used a Clear Scrap stencil with Memento Summer sky ink.
To Finish I added a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Inks used are from Memento and Versafine.

Fussy cutting fun!

Good Morning!
For my official Craft Adda post today, I have a card which involves quite a lot of fussy cutting..that is cutting around a stamped image.
I stamped images from the Lawn Fawn Critters on the Savannah Stamp set and colored them using Camel watercolors. I then cut around the images and popped them up on a watercoloured panel with 3D foam tape.

I finished the card with the sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by…
Have a great day!

Its a big deal!

Hi! I have a card today for the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything goes (wk5) challenge as well as the Simply Less is More 'Celebration' challenge, in honour of their 200th challenge.

The stamps I've used are from the Paper Smooches 'Think Fast' stamp set and for the background, the Hero Arts 'Its your day' stamp set.

I stamped the images on white card stock using Memento inks, coloured them with watercolours and then fussy cut them. I then popped them with some 3D foam tape.

I cut the hexagon using Spellbinders nestabilities.

I like that this is a fun card that can lend itself to more than one occasion!
What do you think?

Embossing with dies-2

Happy Sunday! Hope your day has been restful and you are ready to take on the week ahead!

Today, I have a card for the Addicted to CAS codeword DOTS challenge.

I wrote a post a few days ago about embossing with dies and this card is one more with the same technique.
The die is from Cottage Cutz and I wish I was ble to use it for die cutting as successfully as I do for embossing!
I love the soft effect it creates.
I used watercolours to paint around the embossing and stamped over the panel with a little stamp from the Dotty Daisy stamp set from Stampendous.

The greeting is a die cut made with Penny black creative dies.

I am planning to make these cards in a series of colours for a friend…will keep you posted!

Embossing with Spellbinder dies

Ever been frustrated with dies that don't cut properly no matter what you do?!! Or, die cuts that just won't come out of the die without tearing?!

These butterfly dies drove me to my wits' end and I was ready to give up and destash them!
Then I remembered a technique from Online Card Classes which taught us to emboss using dies and then water colour the image.

So here I have two cards that I have made with panels embossed with the troublesome butterfly die from Spellbinders Shapeabilities! It is so easy to do and so beautiful !

For the first card, I did a light watercolour wash around the butterflies in grey, popped on some gemstones and mounted the panel onto a silver card base.
simple and elegant.

For the second card, I water coloured the embossed area as well as around it and again added gemstones and popped it onto a kraft card base.

I am trying these days to make cards without sentiments…just for versatility.
I am also trying to change my style of photographing..what do you think?

Super sized hug

I have a tag today which I made for the CASology Cue card EAT challenge.

The stamp set is from Paper Smooches and the tag was cut using an old circular tag die…don't remember the name..oops!

I stamped and coloured the sandwich with Versafine Onyx black ink and Camel watercolours, before fussy cutting and popping up with 3D foam tape.

Fun, don't you think?

Have a nice day!

Feather shaker card

I've made a card for the Simon Says Stamp Flicker challenge #6 today, which requires the use of any Simon Says Stamp die.
I just love the feather die from SSS and I came across this video by Jennifer Mcguire  making shaker cards so I decided to incorporate this technique for the challenge.

For the background, I clear embossed a stamp from Penny black and then water coloured the background (one of my favourite techniques that I learned on Online Card Classes). After it dried, I ironed off the embossing so I was left with this gorgeously soft background!
I then die cut the feathers from the panel as well from a sheet of orange fun foam.
I then sandwiched the sequins between the water coloured panel, an OHP sheet and the fun foam before adhering to the card.

The sentiment is from  the Hero Arts 'You're a rainbow OWN' stamp set.

I'm quite proud of this card…what do you think?!!!!

I am also submitting this card for the 'Runway Inspired challenge' #72.

My first big order is in the mail!!

mailed my first big order today to the U.S.!

I packed all the cards in a box and went to post office, but, was told that the packing was not right and that I would have to go the main GPO to pack it correctly.

So when I reached the General Post Office, I was pleasantly surprised that the post office themselves had boxes for packaging and would do the cloth packing too.
As the employees were out for lunch (it was 1pm), I started to leave. A security guard stopped me and directed me to a small stall under a tree opposite the GPO where there were a few men doing the packing and addressing of parcels. The man ( known as JP to all) saw me from across the street and crossed over to help me.
He then proceeded to pack my parcel expertly, address it, and guide me as to the firms that needed to be filled before I could mail it.

At the same stall another gentleman was helping some by filling up a money order form.
Such small businesses fill me with hope... India works... There is chaos in this madness!

I then went and mailed my parcel in the General Post Office!

All done and on its way!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice day!!

Birthday card for a teenage boy

It's my son's 17th birthday today!!
As per a tradition I started a few years ago, I made him a birthday card.
I was inspired by this card from Etsy.com...https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/121253993/computer-geek-birthday-techie-birthday?
I couldn't find the image online( it is a digital image by Mo Manning), so I decided to draw it myself.
Not a bad illustration I think!

This is the view of my son that I see whenever I enter his room!!!
He is an aspiring writer and illustrator so I added the cup of pens on the side.
The sentiment is from Kaisercraft which I die cut with spellbinders nest abilities and popped up using an action wobble!!

These wobbles are so much fun and so very easy to use.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is fro Hero Arts.
All in all a good night's work, don't you think???

Trying my hand at Illustration!

Hello all!
Today I decided to do an illustration on my card for the Moxie fab "Foxy Foxes Challenge". This is way way out of my comfort zone...never tried this before!
I was inspired by this illustration by Lauren Minco, that I came across on Instagram.

I wanted to make this a One Layer Card, so I first drew the image in pencil and then using my Versamark pen  I heat embossed the image in Black.
I then coloured the image with Camel Watercolours. I then added the sentiments from Hero Arts All Occassion messages and Everyday Sayings stamp sets.

The border is from the Hot of the Press Delicate Patterns stamp set.

I am also submitting this card for the Catchy Challenges watercolour challenge.

I like my illustration...what do you think?

Quick tags

I have been struggling  with a creative block for the last couple of months and it is really frustrating!
So, I decided to try making some tags...a smaller and less daunting project!
Here is what I came up with for my official Craft Adda Blog post....

To make these tags, I used Spellbinders Nestabilities dies,  rubber stamps from PTI, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, and sentiment and shape dies from Spellbinders, Penny black and Paper smooches.
I used inks from Memento and Versafine and Derwent watercolour pencils.
Hope these tags inspire you to create!

Have a good night!

Mint cupcake and macarons!

My mojo has gone for a walk and is taking its time coming back!!!
I am trying to cope by making tags!(among other things!)
They are smaller projects which seem less daunting!

So, I made this tag today for the "Less is More" Chocolate and Mint challenge.

The tag was cut using Spellbinders nest abilities. The Chocolate cupcake wrapper was cut from a paper I downloaded from Sandra's blog 'MeinLilaPark'. It was a free DIY print.
Perfect for this project I thought!!
As I did not have mint coloured paper, I cut out the 'cake' from white paper, covered it with versa mark and heat embossed it with mint embossing powder.
The entire cupcake and rose bud etc is cut using the Scrapping Cottage Cottage Cutz 'Stacked candies' die.
The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and the background is from Hero Arts 'Designblocks'.
I used chocolate coloured Rafia and mint coloured bakers twine to finish the tag.
Fun, isn't it?!

Oh dear...I just realised I have used colours other than the specified chocolate and mint.

So, I made another card for the same challenge...

For this card, I heat embossed the macarons (from the Avery  Elle 'bonjour' stamp set.)with mint embossing powder. I coloured it in with brown water colour and stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts (Be happy today) stamp set with Rich cocoa ink from Memento. The paper is the same I used above and for the mint coloured strip, I used a technique which I learnt from the awesome Jennifer Mcguire...to heat emboss a piece of paper with the required colour and then cut a strip from it.

I am so happy with this card!!!!!

Am also entering the tag for the Case Study challenge.

CAS card

Hi Everyone!
I have been away for a while, but am back with this CAS card  for my official post on the Craft Adda blog.

To make this card, I stamped the image from the Paper Smooches Wicked Nauticool stamp set onto white card stock and coloured it with Steadtler sketchpens, and cut it out. I then stamped the wave on the card as well as on the 'life saver' and cut it out.
Then, using my xyron sticker machine, I made it into a sticker and adhered it to the card to make it appear like it was coming out of the water.
I added the sentiment and my card was done.

Fun and easy, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a good evening!

Am submitting this card for the Paper smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge.

Rainbow Bows

My third card for the PTI Stamp-a-faire challenges...A card using a rainbow for the 1980's theme!

To make this card, I stamped the big bows form the PTI Friendship Jar, Summer fillers stamp set and coloured them in rainbow colours using Derwent watercolour pencils. I then run a wet brush over the colours to blend.
The background was created using a sentiment from the Friendship Jar stamp set. The sentiment is from the same set. The sentiment is stamped on a die cut (rounded labels) from PTI.

I finished the card by adding some buttons for pop!

Thanks so much for stopping by...
Have a good night!

SAF antique frame

One more card before I go to bed!
This technique on Stamp-a-faire is really fab!

To create the gilded frame, I used the Cuttlebug star frame die and embossing folder to create the frame.
I then embossed it with gold embossing powder and went over it with Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany, Vintage Photo and Black Soot distress inks to create an antique look.
The background is Hero Arts newspaper background stamped in Vintage photo ink.
The printed paper is from Creative Imaginations, Warm Dots and Stripes pack which I die cut using my Spellbinders Nestabilities die.
The sentiment is from PTI's 'Amazing' stamp set.
to create the extra stars, I heat embossed a piece of paper with gold embossing powder and punched out a few stars with my Fiskars hand punch.
I then finished off the card with a white organza ribbon.

I like the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!
Good Night!

PTI Stamp-a-faire

I have been struggling with my mojo for the past few weeks hence no blogposts!
But, tonight, I started watching the videos of the PTI Stamp-a-faire event and just had to make this card and blog about it!!
Is my mojo coming back?!!!
I sure hope so!!

The challenge was to use Rhinestone and glitter to create a 1920's look...I didn't have glitter so I used glitter card stock. I like it!! :-)

The die is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from PTI's new 'Amazing' stamp set.

Have a good night!

Anniversary Paintings

With the help of Art Impressions watercolour stamps and Marvy watercolour markers, I made these two paintings for my husband for our 21st wedding anniversary today!
These stamps and markers are designed  to help you make the most beautiful paintings in a jiffy!
Isn't that awesome!

I met bonnie Krebs, the creator of Art Impressions at the great American scrapbooking convention in Arlington, Texas in June this year. I was lucky enough to have her do a demo for me which I was able to record.

Here it is...enjoy!
