Happy Birthday Teen

It's been a while since I posted...
Have been travelling, then diwali and then my arm has given up on me! Have started exercising the problem shoulder, so should be back in action soon.

In the meantime, I just had to share the cards that my daughter(age 9) and I made for my son's 14th birthday.
Here they are...

I made this card for my husband to give my son...they love Masterchef Australia and have bonded tremendously while watching this programme. I printed out the Masterchef logo multiple times and then cut it our in different sizes using my nestabilities. I stamped over it using sttamps from STAMPENDOUS  'Birthday Assortment' and 'Ribbon Sliders' and HERO ARTS  'Birthday Messages' and 'All Occasion Messages' stamp sets.

The card is a trifold card, which I embossed using my cuttlebug. I then die cut the apertures in each layer  and suspended the Masterchef logo in the opening using a nylon thread.
Here is the link for making a trifold aperture card.

This card I made for my son because his entire world is in his IPOD!
Here goes...

The envelope is embossed useing the Scor-pal.

I cut out the apple logo!

The envelope was closed using self adhesive velcro dots.

Again, a tri-fold card,  using my Iphone as a template, I drew the ipod on black paper, cut it out, affixed a sheet of OHP paper (acetate) behind it, and then stuck another cut out of the ipod on the reverse. I then punched out little squares using my Carla Craft mini square punch and drew the individaul icons for the screen.  For the headphones, I traced out real headphones on black paper and added the details with a  silver gel pen. i then cut up some old headphone wire and added it to the card to give it authenticity!

I made the second layer in the same way and added the sentiment from the HERO ARTS  'Birthday Messages' stamp set. My son has a similar coloured background on his Ipod, so I tried to recreate that by adding the coloured paper on the inside of the card. If you notice, there are two layers...the top layer contains my message on the back and is held in place using self adhesive velcro dots.

My 9 year old daughter made this absolutely stunning and simple card...I think it totally spells out their realationship!!
The background 'Happy Birthday' stamp is a woodmounted stamp from HERO ARTS.

This is the inside of the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by...
I would love to hear what you think, so please do leave a comment.
Enjoy!
