Pencil shaded background

Remember when we used to use a pencil to emboss the image of a coin on paper? What fun that was !
Well, today, I have applied the same technique to create this awesome background for the
Friday mashup challenge.

I rubbed my 2B pencil over a sheet of paper with my Hero Arts swirls cling rubber stamp underneath.
The effect is gorgeous, as you can see!!
I then added the sentiment (from Hampton Art) and this fun armchair (from Lawn Fawn Dad's day stmap set and cushion from Papersmooches Vogue Abode stampset) for a pop of colour!

I made another card for the same challenge..
I stamped this image (cling stamp from Penny black) using smokey grey ink from Versafine. I then shsded some of the flowers with pencil and one with red Color pencil, to add pop!
I then cut up the image to create a collage, to add interest.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts

This is also my official post for  the Craft Adda Blog this week.

Paper Piecing

Good Morning All!!
Today, for my official Craft Adda blog post, I have an interesting technique for you.
I made this card a while ago, but decided to remake it...a little differently.

When I made this card the first time, I coloured in the japanese girls' kimono with a red gel pen. I wasn't happy with that effect, so this time I decided to do it differently.
I stamped the girl on a sheet of red paper and cut out the kimono. I then made the pieces into stickers using my Xyron 150  sticker machine and glued it onto the image that I had stamped on white paper.

Here is an image of the cut pieces..to give you a better idea.

Again, something so easy which looks so WOW!
Try it!!

Have a great day!

Happy 50th

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Today  for my official post on the Craft Adda blog, I have another number birthday card for that special woman in your life!
On second thoughts, you could also use this card as a 50th Anniversary card!

To make this card I stamped the large circle and square stamps  (Stampendous retro squares stamp set) with memento lilac posies and lulu lavender  inks and then heat embossed over them with clear embossing powder.
The small squares and circles were heat embossed with gold embossing powder
The numbers are die cut using cuttlebug dies and the medallion is cut using Spellbinders nestabilities.
A few self adhesive gemstones and ribbon and we are good to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Peeking flowers

I decided to name this card peeking flowers, 'coz I just love the little white flowers on peeking through the black circles!

I made this card for the CAS-ual Friday CFC100 tic-tac-toe top 10 challenge.
The three elements I am using are black and white, text and punches or dies.

The fabulous sentiment is from Verses rubber stamps.
For the black and white punched circles, I  first stamped flowers from my Inkadinkado stamp set, onto black paper, with Brilliance white ink.
I then punched out circles of different sizes using my circle punches in such a way that every circle had a bit of the flower peeking through.

Fun effect, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Good night!

The Wonder of Water Colour!

I made thiscard for the Wonder of Watercolour Challenge at Moxie Fab world.

The fern stamp is from Hero Arts as is the sentiment.
I inked the stamp with Memento's Peanut Brittle and Cantaloupe inks and spritzed it with water to create a watercolour effect.

It is a quick and easy one layer CAS card to make. Do try it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Good night!

I thank my lucky stars!

Here is another card for the Addicted to CAS Rainbow challenge.

The stamps I've used are from Hero Arts. I just love the sentiment and have been dying to use it! I think I will keep this card for my daughter who will be turning 11 in a month. Every time I look at her, I feel so thankful that she is in my life!

Inks, as usual are from my favourite Memento and Versafine.

Happy Mother's Day

I came across this gorgeous card design in an old Stampendous Catalogue. Since I had a similar stamp set from Words&Crafts, I decided to CASE it.
It has tured out quite well!
The flowers are from my stash and the baker's twine is of course from the Twinery. I coloured the words using my Camel artist's water olour cakes.

I am submitting this card for the Addicted to CAS Rainbow Challenge and
The Paper Players Mother's Day theme Challenge.

Violet and Yellow

Hey all!
Today, for the Simply Less is More Colours Challenge, I made this card with a photograph that I have taken. It just fit the colour scheme so well!!
The challenge was to use oposite colours on the colour wheel and I decided to use Violet and Yellow.

The background stamp is the textures block from Stampendous...one of my favourites!
I stamped it with Memento Grape Jelly ink.
The sentiment is a peel off sticker...aren't I lucky I had it in violet?
The beauty of these challenges is that they push me to think out of the box...I'm lovin' it!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy!

Letter Press technique with the Cuttlebug

Hi everyone!
This is my weekly post on the official CraftAdda blog!

Today's card uses the LetterPress technique.
To do this I applied colour in the depressed side of my Cuttlebug cupcake stamp embossing folder and ran my Cuttlebug die cut stamp through my Cuttlebug die cut  machine. I know...It sounds confusing, but, if you see the tutorial, you will understand!
As usual it looks WOW and is so very easy to do!

The background is stamped with Hero Arts Mixed design stamp set, in Lulu Laveder and Dandelion ink fro Memento.
The letter pressed stamps are inked with Lilac posies and Lulu lavender.

The alphabets and letters are cut with Cuttlebug alphabet and number dies.

Do try out this technique...you will enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

XOXO

I almost missed the Runway Inspired Challenge this week!!
Here is the most adorable inspiration!

and here is what it inspired me to create!

The baby stamp is from an unknown stamp set, the sentiment is from Hero Arts and the background panel has been embossed with a  dotted cuttlebug folder and then lightly distressed with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink .
I used a blue button to pick out the baby's blue eyes in the inspirational image.
The image and sentiment have been stamped with Memento Rich cocoa ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy!

You did it !!

I can't seem to get enough of making graduation caps!!!

Good Morning everyone!!
After the Grad card I made yesterday, I still hadn't had my fill of making little graduation caps! So, I decided to make another card for the Friday Mashup challenge and link it up with the Clean and Simple FTL239 challenge as well.

The FTL sketch was perfect for the replicating the Friday Mashup image...So, here's what I came up with..

I used my square and circle punches to make the graduation caps...with some trimming with my scissors!
For the tassels I used anchor embroidery thread and used a needle threader to pull it through the cap.
I added the sequins for additional pop and shine.
The heat embossed sentiment is from Hero Arts.
My blue panel is cut into strips at the bottom to create a visual impression of gradation as I saw it in the Friday Mashup image.

Quite fun, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!!

Brilliant Grad!!

Hello all!
Hope you have had  a great weekend!!
Mine has been busy and very productive!!
Here is what I have been upto!

I made this card for the Friday Mashup challenge and the Dynamic Duos challenge.
My inspiration for this card came from a vector image of a graduation cap that I found on google images.

The background stamp, I'm sure you will all recognise by now...Starburst from Hero Arts!
The light bulb and sentiment are from  the Technique Tuesday 'Bright Idea' stamp set...another favourite!
Inks are memento Dandelion and Versafine Onyx Black.
The sentiment is heat embossed with American Crafts embossing powder.

To make the graduation cap, I used my square nestabilities dies and my circle punch. I cut and trimmed till I got the right effect. The tassels are made with Baker's Twine from the Twinery.

I thinks it looks really cool...don't you?!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Good night!

A Golf card

Here is a fun card for a guy (or a girl) who loves golf.
I made this card for
the 'Stamp Away With Me 'Color Cue challenge' , and
the Feshly made sketches 84 challenge.

The background stamps are from Impression Obsession.
I stamped and heat embossed a panel of brown card stock with turquoise and red embossing powder and cut it out. The golf bag is a vintage stamp made of brass, which I picked up in Greenwich Market in London.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Fun, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

Sunshine Scooter

Here's a bright and cheerful card.
I have made it for the Less is More sketch 9 Challenge and the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge.
I  also made it for the Dynamic Duos 50 Claypso Coral and Blushing Bride  challenge.
However, after photographing the card, I realised that I used yellow...which I shouldn't have as it is not a neutral colour.
Well, it has turned out pretty well anyway!!

The stamps I have used are...Spiffy Scooters stamp set from Paper Smooches, Starburst from Hero Arts and sentiment from Hero Arts.
Inks are from Memento and the scooter is coloured using Faber Castell sketch pens.
You may notice that I have done some masking for the clouds.
To get the appropriate colour for the sentiment, I stamped it with a combination of Tangelo and Rose Bud ink from Memento.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your night!
