Green

Had a few minutes before taking my daughter swimming, so decided to act upon the idea that just came to me!
I am playing retro sketches #157 and Addicted to CAS 'Green' challenges.

The idea for this card has come from this awesome card by Ardyth Percy-Robb of Maskerade!
I masked off the card topper and inked the edges with Timholtz distress ink 'Crushed olive' and Memento 'Pear Tart'.
Wanted a bold sentiment so I added my favourite one from Hampton Arts.

Thanks for stopping by…
Have a great evening!

I am playing the Simon Says Stamp flickr challenge#15 (Spring/Easter) with this card.

The card is simple…the wood grain background from Stampin' Up, the flower and leaf cluster from W+9, and the sentiment from Simon Says stamp.

P.S., the small square is a left over from the shaker tag birth announcements I made last week!!!

Have a good day!

Sparkle!

Hey there!
I am playing the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday#206 Stamping and mixing patterns challenge today!

For this card, I used stamps from the PTI Sparkle & Shine stamp set to create the patterns.
I am particularly thrilled about the sequin stamps…they look gorgeous…I did some send generation stamping too so the stamped sequins have a slightly soft look.

And my biggest triumph with this card is the Sparkle die cut!
I  heat embossed the die cut with gold embossing powder..twice..hence the beautifully smooth and melted gold finish! And it matches the gold embossed patterned paper too!! YAY!!
I just love this technique!
To finish, I added sequins which I received as a freebie when I ordered stamps from Winnie and Walter!

As you can gather, I am terribly excited about this card…hope it inspires you too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Bollywood birthday!

I have always loved creating my own background papers but now I am obsessed!!!!
A cousin called and asked me to make a 60th birthday card for a man who loved old hindi (Bollywood) movie music.

So I started looking for inspiration on Google images and decided to take a screenshot of the images of the movie posters that came up. I printed it out onto some nice white textured paper and Voila!! I had a beautiful custom printed paper!

I then went a step ahead and typed out the lyrics (in photoshop) of a very famous hindi birthday song from a really old movie…one of my favourites! This became my second printed paper!

I then made two vinyl records with black and coloured paper to create the vintage look…added the numbers 60 and a birthday message to finish the card. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink for interest.

This card just makes me smile…I hope it does to you too!

I am submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp 'B is for…' Monday challenge. B is for Bollywood…B is for Birthday!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by…
Have a good night!

Custom printed papers

Hey there!
Today's card is inspired by this card made by Neha Bhatt of Perwinkle Creations.
Neha had created her own custom background printed paper for her card.

Taking this idea, I made this 21st birthday card for a boy who loves finance and maths.
I photocopied a page from one of my husband's finance text books and after distressing the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink, I used it as my custom background paper.

The sentiment is from KaiserCraft, which I heat embossed onto a piece of OHP paper and stapled to the panel.

The number dies are from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by…do come back to see more custom printed papers!
Have a nice day!

I am submitting this card for the Simon Says stamp Monday Challenge B… B for birthday!

Congrats

Hi!
I have made this card for the Paper Smooches Sparks "Picture Perfect" challenge today.

I was inspired by the colours, the trellis and the birds in the image. This has been a card quite outside my comfort zone, but I am thrilled with the way it turned out…

The sentiments are from the Paper Smooches 'Helping Hands' stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by..
Have a great day!

Dreamcatcher

Hey there!
I am playing the Friday Mashup 200 challenge and the W+9 'Throwback Thursday' challenge today.

For the Friday Mashup challenge, I have used the die cut  requirement from from FM174 and the
Vellum requirement  from FM178.

The dream catcher die is from W+9 and the stamps used are from W+9 and Stampendous.

I masked off the sides of the card topper with masking tape and used Tim Holtz distress inks to create the soft panel.

This card is quite out of my comfort zone and I have been dying to use my Dream Catcher Die…I'm glad it finally came together!

Happy Holi

Hey everyone!
For my official Craft adda post today, I have made a not so traditional holi card today inspired by this card by Ardyth Percy robb.

I've used Winnie and Walter (stripes) and Paper Smooches (I heart Art) stamp sets.
The sentiment is from simon Says Stamp (handwritten borders)
I just love the way the neon colours pop on the black background, don't you??!

I have stamped one panel with neon inks (hero arts) and heat embossed the black panel with neon embossing powders. (American Crafts)
I added some neon velvet buttons and a sentiment to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you are having a Happy Holi!

I am submitting this for the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Challenge

I am the Mashup Glamete!

Yippie I won at Friday Mashup!

Watercolouring with Distress markers

I am linking up another card for the Paper Players 'Spring' theme Challenge.
Stamps are from Darcies, Art Impressions and Winnie and Walter.
Inks are Tim Holtz distress inks and markers and Marvy watercolour markers and the happy die cut is from Winnie and Walter.
This technique of stamping with distress inks and markers and softening them with water, really make s me happy!
So I am also linking this card up for the Simply Less in More 'This makes me happy' Challenge.

Birthday Words

Hey! I am on a roll today…after a very long time!
I made this card for the One layer Simplicity Challenge-Words.

To make this card, I masked off the card inked a slim strip of the card with Tim Holtz distress inks.
I then added the sentiments from Winnie and Walter and Hero Arts to finish the card.

Playing with Kraft card

 Good Morning All!
I am playing the Simon says stamp flickr challenge today…it is a combined challenge with Lawn fawn..and the Friday Mashup challenge!

For these challenges, I had to create a vintage look and use kraft paper as well as Lawn Fawn and Simon says Stamp products. Oh, and also to use the embossed embossing technique…whew! ;-)

I started with a piano sheet music background which I found in 'Papers,Papers,Papers' a book by The Crafters Paper Library.
Because I like to hoard printed paper, I photocopied the paper  to use it.
I then distressed the edges and used Claudine Helmuth's multi medium matte (absolutely love it) to fix to the card topper.
I did the same with the piano keys, die cut from Memory box.

For the embossed embossing technique, I embossed a piece of brown paper with cuttlebug embossing folders and then heat embossed over it with gold embossing powder.
I then die cut the numbers (Lawn Fawn) and fixed them using foam tape.

The sentiments are from the Simon Says Stamp 'tilted banner' stamp and die set and Stampendous.

Finally I distressed the edges of the card topper and the sentiment banners with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

Making this card has been a huge mood lifter….hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Distress Mask

Hey there!

To make this card, I die cut a circle in the centre of a square piece of card stock  and used it as a mask to ink in some distress ink (Worn lipstick and Victorian Velvet from tim Holtz) in the centre of my card topper.
I then added a stamped and fussy cuts rose (from Stampin'UP) which I water coloured using the same distress inks.
The other stamps I have used are from Inkadinkado and Studio G.
To create some interest, I coloured the edges of the card with the same distress inks mentioned above and placed the card topper at an angle.
I learnt this technique from Jennifer Mcguire. I couldn't find the specific link, but have linked to her her blog.

Have a great evening!
