BOX BAGS

Inspired by an activity in the "big book oF Papercrafts" by Vivienne Bolton,
we made these cute box bags this week. To decorate, the kids used the paper weaving and quilling that they learnt earlier.
They turned out quite well, don't you think?!

ANIMAL CLOTHESPIN MAGNETS AND WOVEN BOOKMARKS

A few things we've made in the last couple of weeks...

We tried paper weaving using quilling strips...quite successfull I thought!
Our project was inspired by a project from the book, "big book of papercrafts" by Vivienne Bolton.
The kids decorated the bookmarks in a variety of ways, as you can see...
In the picture above, my student Millie, used various stips of paper to make an evening sky and then she stamped an image of palm trees and sea gulls in black to make a silhouette. It looks remarkable...don't you think?!
Stamps are from Inkadinkado's 'coastal maritime' stamp set.

Here, my younger students made animal clothes peg magnets. Asimple project, they made it by drawing, colouring and cutting out animal faces and then fixing them to wooden clothespins. They then attached magnetic strips to the back of the pegs making them perfect  and useful fridge magnets to delight their moms!

Making tissue box covers!

Oh what fun we had this week! So much creativity from my little ones!
We made tissue box covers for the Jackson Maruti tissue box. Each and every one of the kids came up with   something unique...these pictures will describe them better!
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy!

For the instructions on how to make the box, please follow this link from splitcoast stampers. I have adapted it to my tissue box...

Apple printing...

Another project I did this week, with my littler kids!(6 yr olds). We cut an apple in half, and printed on the muslin bag with acrylic paint. To jazz it up, we added some gemstones for pips, using fevicol fabric glue. This activity was inspired by an activity I saw on http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/kids-art-projects#slide_15.

Stationery folder

Something we made in my craft class this week...The kids and their moms loved it!!!
The closed folder, decorated with punched out shapes and ribbon.

Each folder has five 4"x7" letter papers with matching envelopes.
The folder is made by folding an A4 size card paper into half. The sides are then folded up and inch to crate the pockets. These pockets are stuck down at each end using gluedrops from Fevicol. The designs on the co-ordinated letter paper and envelopes are made by using simple and fun shaped punches.

craft workshops

I am starting regular craft classes for kids from Tuesday Jan 11th 2011. The classes will be held at my residence on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 pm.  I can be contacted on 9930833268 for course details..
In the meantime, here are some pictures of my holiday craft workshop which I held in December 2010. It was quite a success...the kids left asking for more!!! I take that as a huge compliment!
