Anniversary Anthuriums

Hi!
I have a card today which I made with the Simon Says Stamp flickr challenge in mind.
the challenge is a colour challenge… Butter yellow, Blue sky, Rose pink and Lime green.
So here goes…

I first created a background using a Winnie and Walter stencil.  I stamped the image ( a really old wood block stamp) on watercolour paper and coloured it using Camel watercolours.
I then inked up my Happy stamp from Winnie and Walter with Tim Holtz's  worn lipstick marker, spritzed it with water and stamped it on the card stock to give it that water colour look.
I then added the other sentiments( from Winnie and Walter and and Hero Arts)  to finish the card.
I cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp's Stitched rectangles die in order to get the stitched effect at the top and bottom only.

Quite happy with the results!

thanks so much for stopping by…CAS

CAS happy birthday

Good morning! I have a simple CAS birthday card for you today.

The stamp set is from Stampendous 'Garden Box Set'. It s is one that I haven't used often before and I like the simplicity of this card.
I used Versafine Onyx black to stamp the image and Camel watercolours to colour the images. I then added self adhesive rhinestones to add some interest.

I am posting this card on the pre-class gallery over at Online Card Classes Clean and Simple 4

Nicest Thoughts

Good morning!
I made this card for a very very dear aunt on her birthday.
I saw Kristina Werner make a similar panel on online card classes, and decided to try it…
I embossed the panel using the Papertrey ink die. Once embossed I coloured the panel using Camel artists water colour cakes.
The awesome sentiment is a woodblock stamp from Hero Arts which I fussy cut and popped up with 3 D tape to finish the card.

I haven't heard back from my aunt yet, but I hope she enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed making it!

One layer simplicity

Happy Sunday everyone!
I have made a card for the One Layer Simlicity Challenge OLS12 today.

I have used a stamp set from Stampendous which I have had for ever but never used. I finally managed to make a card with it and I am s happy with the result.
This challenge calls for the use of opposites and I have decided to go with opposite colours…Red and Green and Black and White.
The images are coloured with Camel artists watercolour cakes.

I am also entering this card for the NBUS (never used before stuff) challenge.

Fussy cutting fun!

Good Morning!
For my official Craft Adda post today, I have a card which involves quite a lot of fussy cutting..that is cutting around a stamped image.
I stamped images from the Lawn Fawn Critters on the Savannah Stamp set and colored them using Camel watercolors. I then cut around the images and popped them up on a watercoloured panel with 3D foam tape.

I finished the card with the sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

I have a tag today which I made for the CASology Cue card EAT challenge.

The stamp set is from Paper Smooches and the tag was cut using an old circular tag die…don't remember the name..oops!

I stamped and coloured the sandwich with Versafine Onyx black ink and Camel watercolours, before fussy cutting and popping up with 3D foam tape.

Fun, don't you think?

Doodling a panel

Hi Everyone!
I am trying my hand at doodling these days...actually have been doing it for years, but always in the corners of notebooks...
Today I decided to make a background panel for a card. So, using this  image from a traditional Kalamkari print as inspiration.
Here is what I came up with....

I doodled with pencil, watercoloured the panel and then went over the pencil lines with a Staedtler black fine liner. I added a vellum panel with a stamped sentiment from Kaisercraft and affixed it with ribbon for interest.

I am entering this card for the  the Runway inspired challenge.

For my second card, I took inspiration from the traditional Madhubani style of painting to create this panel. The sentiments are the same as the ones used above, from Kaisercraft.

I am quite happy with my first couple of efforts at doodling.
What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great night!

Hero Arts 'April Challenge'

Good Morning Everyone!!

Make a card 'Just for her' using...A digital printable and / or a Hero Arts Stamp and / or using this sketch.

Here is my interpretation...

For this card, I used a printable from the 3"x4" journal/filler cards set fromMel Stampz & the Hydrangea stamp from Hero Arts.

I stamped the background with Stampendous 'Marble Texture cube' in Lulu Lavender from Memento.

The Hydreangea is stamped with Versafine and heat embossed with Black Opaque from American Crafts.
I couloured it in using Camel Artist's Water Colour cakes.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' stamp set and stamped with Grape jelly ink from Memento and distressed with Tangelo ink also from Memento.

The border die at the bottom is from Spellbiders Shapeabilities 'Persian Accents' set.
I didn't have the shade of green that I wanted for this border, so I stamped over the bright green paper with my Marble Texture cube with Cottage ivy ink from Memento, in order to get a colour that I could be happy with.
I AM very happy with the way that turned out!!!

Love this card...I hope you will love it too!

Thanks for stopping by...
Enjoy!
