FOR DAYS WHEN YOU HAVE A CREATIVE BLOCK...

I have been suffering from a creative block for days now...anything I touch seems to be getting spoilt!
I had to make some cards today...so here is what I came up with...

I used a photo that I took in Mexico...of a Margarita!
I stamped a sentiment from Stampendous' "Birthday Assortment" and "Birthday Candles" with Tim Holtz distress inks, "Flaming Brick" and "Aged Mahogany", heat embossed the  "Cheers" sentiment in gold, mounted the pictures on  3"x4" cards and I was good to go!

The third card was a picture I took of the Madhumalati plant in my garden...again I added a sntiment, a ribbon and mounted it on an ivory card and I was done!

A great way to make quick cards...especially when you are stuck for ideas!

Thanks for stopping by...Enjoy!

TWO WEEKS OF CLASS...

I just realised haven't posted about my classes for the last two weeks...
We resumed classes after the summer holidays, in June.
Since then, this is what we have been up to...

We printed! We took a piece of coir rope and stuck it to a piece of cardboard to form a simple shape..like this heart and the flower. the we covered it with acrylic paint and printed. Here Amy  and Jun printed on an envelope and a sheet of letter paper, to make a matching set.

Here, Ila used the same technique as above to print a background for her scrapbook page. Its not very visible, but you can see the white swirls peeking out from under the photographs.

Last week we made "explosion boxes". They were really really easy to make and a lot of fun. You can find the tutorial a thttp://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/explosion_box/.
Hope you enjoy making one as much as we did!
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!

POPPIES ETC.,

I've been having fun with a new stamp set that I bought recently, as well as trying out a classic technique as demonstrated by Gina K on Stamp TV
The stamp set is from Stampendous..."Perfectly clear Poppy bottles".
I have used watercolour, colourpencils and water colour pencils to colour the images...lot of fun!

Water Colour

Derwent Water Colour pencils

Faber Castell Colour Pencils

For this card, I stamped the image (Stampendous-wild flower sprigs), with Versamark watermark Ink and heat embossed it with Judikins clear embossing powder. I then went over the image with Tim Holtz distress inks, 'Broken China', 'Faded Jeans', and 'Crushed Olive'. I love the way it turned out...don't you?!

Thanks so much for stopping by...
Enjoy!
