Distress Mask

Hey there!

To make this card, I die cut a circle in the centre of a square piece of card stock  and used it as a mask to ink in some distress ink (Worn lipstick and Victorian Velvet from tim Holtz) in the centre of my card topper.
I then added a stamped and fussy cuts rose (from Stampin'UP) which I water coloured using the same distress inks.
The other stamps I have used are from Inkadinkado and Studio G.
To create some interest, I coloured the edges of the card with the same distress inks mentioned above and placed the card topper at an angle.
I learnt this technique from Jennifer Mcguire. I couldn't find the specific link, but have linked to her her blog.

Inspired by Pinterest

I am taking an idea from Ardyth-Percy-robb to make a card inspired by a photo on her Pinterest board.

This was a wedding invitation for my niece and I made 35 of them in 24 hours!!! That was quite a feat and the whole family pitched in!

I made the flowers by punching scalloped circles from red and pink vellum and layering them. I also crumpled them for texture.
I held them together with black brads from Recollections.
The background was using my Cuttlebug embossing folder, the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "Tilted Banner stamp and die set". the dragon flies were punched from vellum too.

I had so much fun making this card and it was much appreciated by all who received it.

Valentine week- Day 5

A very quick post this morning….We're off for sports day at school!

A simple CAS card with a muted background from Hero Arts. I stamped the background on the  white circle and die cut the heart with my nestablilities. I then die cut a smaller red circle, stamped the same background on it and placed it behind the heart.
I then popped to up with some foam tape and finished it of with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.
I love that pop of red with the hint of the butterfly wings!

I am submitting this card fort the CASology challenge.

Valentine week- Day 4

Today I have a card that is as Valentiney as you can get!!!!
Falling pink hearts and a real mushy sentiment!
The hearts are from Inkadinkado and the sentiment from Studio G.
I used  Memento inks…Rosebud, Lilac posies and Angel pink.

I followed Jennifer Mcguire's idea of making shade cards for my inks and this helped me choose the colours I wanted for this card.
While I took the idea from her video, I decided to stamp my colours using a solid stamp on blank visiting cards. I have then stored them in a visiting card album, arranged according to colour.
I realised I had forgotten how many inks I had!!!
